National-Scale Consumer Platform
Architected the systems powering a nationally recognized mobile application that reached #1 on the iOS App Store, with both iOS and Android regularly ranking top 3 in recent years, serving millions of users across the United States.
The Challenge
The platform operates at national scale, with millions of users active simultaneously during peak demand events. The system handles 100M+ messages in a single day, and at peak, real-time delivery has to hold under enormous concurrent load.
These are the moments where reliability matters most — there is no second chance and no retry. The system has to handle the traffic correctly, every time, with zero downtime.
What We Built
TeqEngine led engineering and architecture, responsible for the production infrastructure at scale. Key contributions included:
- Built the messaging infrastructure that delivered 100M messages in a single day
- Designed and built the production architecture and infrastructure for peak-scale events
- Led emergency fixes and served as the primary team responsible for systems at scale
- Scaled the platform to support millions of concurrent users during peak events
- Achieved zero production downtime on every system built and architected
The Scale
To contextualize what "100M messages in a single day" means: that's millions of users accessing the platform simultaneously during peak events. The messaging infrastructure must handle massive, time-concentrated spikes with sub-second delivery.
The Results
Zero Production Downtime
Every peak traffic event handled cleanly. Every system we built and architected maintained zero downtime — every time.
100M Messages in One Day
The messaging infrastructure we built delivered 100M messages in a single day during peak events, with sub-second delivery times.
Millions of Users at Scale
The architecture scaled to support millions of concurrent users during peak demand events.
#1 on iOS, Top 3 on Android
The application reached #1 on the iOS App Store and has consistently ranked top 3 across both iOS and Android in recent years — powered by the systems we architected.
